NYaltnews’ mission is to develop a unique media website that fills in the huge gaps left by the mainstream, corporate media and we’re looking for people to write posts and news articles for us. We’re particularly interested in people who are knowledgeable about diverse aspects of their communities. Beyond politics, we like to hear from people who can talk about culture, the arts, the environment, and other regional issues.
NYaltnews is people-powered media. Bloggers and citizen journalists are the backbone of NYaltnews Although bloggers and writers are not paid (sorry, we don’t have the cash…yet), they will reach a large, statewide audience and can help create a dialogue on issues that haven’t gotten fair recognition in the past.
Are you interested in writing blog posts and news articles for us? Then take these steps:
Read our Blogger and editor guidelines.
Register with NYaltnews.
Send us an email, telling us who you are, and why you think you should write for us. (Don’t get nervous about this, we don’t need a CV or résumé or anything like that).
Once accepted, you’ll have access to the author’s Dashboard (link for registered users only). There you can look over the writing tools available to you and get started. The dashboard appears self-explanatory, but if you need help, here is a useful video to help you along.
Once you write your post, it will go into a drafts queue, where it will go through the editing process and then released live on the site.
